An Introduction to our school:
New PORG – Elementary school is a five-class primary school with extended teaching of English. English tuition is introduced gradually and naturally from the first year onwards. Pupils also have contact with English in music and art lessons and extra-curricular activities. Pupils at New PORG – Elementary school will be fully prepared for bilingual study at New PORG – Gymnasium. Unlike other quality international schools in Prague, New PORG is a school with affordable tuition fees where students can take advantage of all the benefits of an international school without losing contact with Czech society, culture and education. New PORG – primary school makes use of many of the tried and tested educational approaches, curricula, rules and know-how used at the seminal gymnasium in Praha - Libeň.

Character of the School:
New PORG is a small school with a family atmosphere, with a maximum of 18 pupils in each class. New PORG - Elementary school places emphasis on mutual respect between pupils and teachers and promotes the individuality and personal development of the pupils whilst maintaining rigorous academic standards. New PORG - Elementary school offers a range of interesting extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, art and a variety of sports. New PORG’s teaching staff includes individuals successful both within and beyond academia and also quality teachers from English-speaking countries. The headmaster and other members of the leadership are always approachable without formal barriers and the school maintains direct contact with parents by email.  The school promotes reciprocal confidence in the head teacher – teacher – pupil relationship.

Curriculum:

At New PORG - Elementary school we believe that the key to learning lies in a sensitive approach to each individually talented child. Children must look forward to school and gain satisfaction from the development of their knowledge and abilities. Czech language teaching places special emphasis on reading, writing and literature. English language teaching focuses on the natural use of the language. It includes contact with native speakers and gives pupils the confidence to put their language skills into practical use. In addition to traditional subjects, art, music, drama and physical education also form an essential part of the curriculum.
 

History:

PORG - Libeň was founded as the first private school in the Czech Republic after the fall of the communist regime in our country. Lessons started on the 2nd of September 1990. For 18years PORG has been based in Prague 8 – Libeň, in Lindnerova street. PORG has gained recognition thanks to its combination of academic quality, its unique atmosphere and the quality of the students and teaching staff. The prestige of the school extends beyond the academic world and parents. In recent years PORG has significantly over-subscribed with an average ratio of five times the number of applicants to available places. PORG has been repeatedly awarded the highest possible assessment, “excellent” from the Czech Inspectorate of Schools. In addition, PORG has an extensive “International programme” - a wide network of partner secondary schools in the USA, England, Scotland, Germany and France for long-term study stays.
